MY PHILOSOPHY
Palisades Style by Leslie Johnson evolved from a small custom bulletin board company to designing homes and spaces for both herself and others in 2010. Leslie grew up in the midwest with an architect father and learned that creating spaces should feel functional, enduring and personal.
About Leslie
Leslie Johnson is the founder and principal designer of Palisades Style, bringing a unique blend of creativity, practicality, and life experience to every project. A former attorney and successful small business owner, Leslie’s path to interior design was shaped by a lifelong passion for architecture, construction, and beautiful living spaces.
Raised in the Midwest by an architect father, Leslie developed an early appreciation for thoughtful design and the way homes can enhance everyday life. She later brought that passion to life by designing and building her own family homes in both Pacific Palisades, California, and Montana—experiences that deepened her understanding of how to create spaces that are both functional and deeply personal.
Today, Leslie specializes in creating timeless, comfortable interiors that reflect her clients’ lifestyles, whether for a single room refresh or a full-scale renovation. Her approach combines classic design principles with relaxed sophistication, resulting in spaces that feel curated, welcoming, and effortlessly livable.
When she’s not working with clients, Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, their beloved cat Hazel, and newest family member, Hudson the puppy. Splitting her time between Los Angeles and Montana, she draws inspiration from the distinct beauty and character of both places, bringing a balanced perspective to every project she undertakes
PRINCIPAL + LEAD DESIGNER
A former lawyer and Pepperdine Law graduate, Heather’s initial foray into design was as a hobby. Now as Co-Founder and Lead Designer at her namesake firm, she channels both her creative and operational expertise. When she isn’t working, she and her husband can be found at the beach with their two kids or out on the town, sampling one of LA’s many fabulous restaurants.
PRINCIPAL + LEAD DESIGNER
When Katie was a child, she had a front-row seat as her mother renovated the historic Channel Road Inn. That experience had a profound impact, inspiring her to eventually co-found her own studio. With an MBA from USC, Katie balances the practical and aesthetic in both the business and the spaces she designs. On days off, you’ll find her seeking new experiences with her family—whether outdoors or in their own kitchen.
MANAGING DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
AND HUMAN RESOURCES
Having grown up in a family-run real estate business, Ana has a deep understanding of the intricacies of property management. Her father, a well-respected developer, instilled in her a strong work ethic from a young age. Combined with her MBA and a loving husband in commercial real estate, her passion for the industry led her to joining the LBD team. Ana, brings her expertise in human resources and management practices to help all aspects of LBD run smoothly. Outside of work, Ana enjoys hiking with her dogs, traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with her family.
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PR
Like Katie and Heather, Tara brings both a love of design and business expertise to her role. Before joining Lucas Browning Design, Tara earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Sage College of Albany and started her own experiential design firm. Her background and appreciation for interior design are reflected in the content she creates for LBD. When she isn’t creating beautiful and strategic content or being the life of the party, you will find her at home with her puppy, Layla.
